Agency scoops ‘Trade Media Relations’ at PR Daily’s Media Relations Awards 2014

02 December 2014

Stein IAS has taken home the award for ‘Trade Media Relations’ at Ragan’s PR Daily’s Media Relations Awards 2014. The global B2B marketing agency was honoured for its ‘Rubber Stamped’ campaign, which it developed for client Trelleborg Marine Systems.

Ragan’s PR Daily’s Media Relations Awards celebrate excellence and recognise outstanding media relations campaigns and exceptional talent in the media industries.

Tasked with raising awareness of the importance of rubber quality in the performance of marine fenders, Stein IAS steered the development of the ‘Rubber Stamped’ campaign which positioned the Trelleborg brand as industry experts and, subsequently, the supplier of choice for high-quality fender solutions. Stein IAS and Trelleborg took a content-led approach, by investing in research which fuelled a series of three thought-leadership assets fed through campaign automation.

The second asset in the campaign, triggered automatically to anyone that had downloaded a whitepaper, was The Rubber Quality Webinar. The on-demand webinar took a slide and voiceover format, and was scripted and designed by Stein IAS. It was voiced by the Trelleborg Marine Systems technical expert, Mishra Kumar, to add authenticity. The webinar gave users an introduction to rubber technology, how it is applied in the field of marine fenders and what they should ask for from suppliers to guarantee performance. The result was a significant boost in PR and social media activity around the issue.

The judging panel commented: “The resulting webinar video propels the viewer expertly into rubber manufacturing, fender-making, and chemistry 101 within two minutes. This video is remarkable and deserves study in every detail by corporate communicators.

“The script is elegantly written. It builds up tension and drama like Perry Mason defending a client. The relentless logic, the careful building up of evidence, every fact and equation placed for maximum effect, make the case against low-cost fenders irrefutable.”
